Pretty Things

Ever since B and I started trying to get pregnant I have been checking out baby stuff and all of the reviews and ratings on everything. When we actually got pregnant I knew exactly what I wanted. I think I had my registry planned out by week 6. The only thing I couldn't decide on was my diaper bag. I didn't really like anything at BRU and the worst part was they didn't carry any of them in the store so you couldn't tell what they were like or what the quality was. I think I finally decided on one now after a comment from a friend. Now I have never been one to like fashionable stuff. I really don't have great style (I really do try sometimes) I am just not one for trends. Well there is one that I started to follow a year or so ago. Vera Bradley. I used to think they were grandma bags that looked like quilts, but lately I have been loving some of their patterns and their bags are so well made. After a friend suggested how much her friend loved her VB bag and since I LOVE my VB bags I decide that this was the bag for me. I have a few wallets, lunch totes, purses, and totes that I carry, but none of them are the same pattern and now the dilemma begins. What pattern do I get? I know I want to use this bag for the next baby so I need to choose something that can go both ways and I am not and overly froo froo kind of girl. Here are the 2 bags I really like. The green and black is the same as a purse B got free when he bought my school tote and the black would be nice because it wouldn't get dirty and would look like a purse.
No matter what I choose I know it will be a great bag because everything made by VB is great quality. I think I am going to go to the store and play with each bag to see what I like best. Plus I just want to go touch everything there.

Counting Down The Days

I had my 3rd Dr.'s appointment yesterday. It was a quick in and out appt. I peed in a cup (I am pretty good at this now not a drop spilled), they weighed me (8lbs. up since the beginning). And I heard the heartbeat! That is the sweetest sound I have ever heard! The second the nurse put the microphone thingy on my belly she found it. They said my uterus was growing nicely and they scheduled my next appointment. The BIG appointment! In 5 weeks we will know if we will be meeting Mckinley or Walker. So only 34 more days until we know who the peanut will be. I think we are going to start clearing out the nursery this week and my interior decorator (my mom) wants to start painting next week. This nursery is going to be the most beautiful baby nursery ever. My mom is amazing at what she does. She can make anything. She will be making the bedding and drapes. I just want to know if I will have pink or blue bedding. Now I will be counting down the days and planning how I will reveal if it is a boy or a girl. I know that there will at least be pink or blue cupcakes just because I LOVE cupcakes!

What Was That?

Today I kept feeling these weird tickling feelings in my lower belly. I am only 14 weeks 2 days and I have read that some people can feel flutters this early, but I am not sure. It feels like someone is tickling my belly from the inside. So if that is you Baby D then I am feeling you! I can't wait to really feel him (I am still going with him) move and kick in there. I will laugh when I look back (after my scan in a few weeks) and we have found out it is a girl. I just have this feeling that peanut is a little boy. Either way I know le bebe will be a wild child and that is comforting.

Last Post of the Day

I feel like today was a pretty productive day. We did some more house cleaning and purging, hit up the dog park to tire out the little girl and get out of the house, and I made a new hat. I think it might be my new favorite. I haven't made anything new in quite some time. So here it is the newest addition to the Happyheads collection.
It is funny how much making things makes me happy. You know my baby will have the cutest darn hats around. I am thinking a candy corn hat will be made next for our first Halloween this year.

Tissues and Other Fluff

No one told me that having a constant runny nose was a symptom of pregnancy. I find that I am turning into one of my 4 year olds. Not often do I find myself with a tissue when I actually need one so my sleeve and or hand has become my new wiping place. It is like a constant drip, drip, drip. Now I fear it is becoming a full fledged cold. I know I have already taken plenty of medicines during this pregnancy for various things (UTI, YI, and other stuff all just as fun as previous ones), but what can I take for a dang cold? I know Tylenol is ok for the headaches (even though it doesn't work so I now just suffer through it by rubbing a frozen water bottle on my head which seems to help some). What can a poor mommy to be take for a cold? I can feel it coming. I wish it would stop teasing me and just get it over with already! On a better note I have found my love for coffee, decaf coffee that is, again. Mind you I like it with a little hot chocolate and a peppermint stick slipped in, but I have once again made my way back to my one true love. How I have missed you so my long lost friend. For a while there it just didn't taste very good, but baby has thrown me a bone finally. I still can't believe we signed up for our Parenting/Breastfeeding classes today. It seems like all of that is so far in the future. I know it will get here really fast, but I hate setting dates (and paying for stuff) so far into the future when you have no idea what will be going on then. I am so glad I went ahead and looked at the classes because they were all almost filled up. These classes are in May and June people! So now we will have a small clue of what we are doing with peanut. We opted to take the one day crash course because we never know when B will be on call or how late he will be working so we thought to get our moneys worth we thought this would be our best choice. The best part is we probably won't learn a darn thing because our good friends Jill and Ben have signed up for the same class. Now we all know B and I are complete goof balls, but throw these 2 into the mix and we are all going to miss something important. At least we know it will be fun and we can all squirm together during the videos (I will be closing my eyes thank you very much). Last night we had a grand ole time hanging out with Mama to be Jill and Papa Ben. We ate some unhealthy food (your welcome baby) and watched the Memphis game which almost gave me a heart attack because it was so darn close. We settled back at the homestead to finish watching the game (so I didn't have to be so far from a potty). This is my dilemma. I am SO thirsty ALL the time so I drink water or sugar free juice ALL day long. Now when you become pregnant for some reason your body decides it hates you and every drop of water you put into it immediately comes right out. Now picture me with an already pee sized bladder chugging 5 glasses of deliciously cold water. Now give it 2 minutes and BAM! I will be on the bathroom every 3 minutes. I can even go to the bathroom, walk out, turn right around and pee again! Ahhh make it stop! And the Awesome part is it just gets worse from here. Woohoo. So at least we have something to look forward too. I think I have (maybe) talked B into bundling up today and taking the pups to the dog park. For the love of God Stella needs to run and run for a LONG time. She has not had enough exercise lately and she is making me insane! I think she can either sense something is going on or smell something because she will not leave me alone. She lays on my face (yes on my face literally. She puts her entire head on my face!) She licks my toes (As weird as she is yes this is a new one.) And she just won't leave me alone. Now she was always needy, but this is becoming too much. By the end of this I shall have to start locking her in the closet to get some peace. The last thing I have to add on this super long post is I got e some new Fluff! No not marshmallow fluff, but butt fluff! I was showering yesterday when all of a sudden the doorbell rang. B intercepted my package and came in to ask "What did you order from CA"? Diapers of course!! I got a Great deal from a momma on diaperswappers.com. I got 2 Best Bottom covers, 15 hemp inserts, and 3 other inserts for $125. I already have 3 BB covers, 12 newborn tiny gpants, 2 small gdiapers, and 5 Dappi cloth diapers plus 2 covers. I think this is a good start. All we need is the Med/Large inserts for the BB, a few more sizes of gdiapers and their inserts and we are covered. At least we know we will have this part of the bebe covered. So here is everything so far. Best Bottom Covers and Inserts Dappi Cloth and Newborn Gpants

Another Snowday

Here I am home once again with nothing better to do. I am watching a little Oprah right now and just finished making a hat for Nicole. Making this tiny little hat made me want to know even more what the peanut is so I can start making hats for the bambino. I already made a pumpkin hat for this fall, but I want to make a butterfly hat or a blue elephant hat depending on what we are having. I really should get up now and start some cleaning since we are hanging out with Jill and Ben tomorrow. I think I am going to clear some more stuff out of the nursery to be. Maybe I will eat first = )

Week 13

We Made It!!! 2nd tri is FINALLY here! I am feeling Awesome. I not sick anymore (I have my moments where I don't feel awesome, but I am not really nauseous). I am not as tired as I was. After a long day at work I can get pretty tired, but I am sleeping better and longer. I still wake up every morning around 3 to potty. After My potty break I hit the couch so I don't wake B up with my tossing and turning. I actually can't fall back asleep in my bed, but I sleep Great on the couch with my little heater. I have a mini bed set up with my pillows and down comforter. Now that we have hit this milestone we are just waiting for that one moment when we will find out who we will be meeting in a few months. I can't wait to know if we will be meeting Mckinley or Walker.
Our next appointment is this Wednesday. This will juts be a regular checkup where they will check me out, weight me and so on and so forth. I am hoping we will hear the heartbeat. We won't be getting another ultrasound until our anatomy scan where they will check to see how everything is looking and when we will hopefully find out who is in there. I think the thing I am most ready for is to feel the peanut moving around.
It is weird because I don't "Feel" pregnant right now. I know that I am pregnant because I am starving all the time, my belly keeps getting bigger, and I get tired. Every time before each appointment I panic because I am so afraid they will look and nothing will be there or something will have gone wrong. I know I will feel better Wed. Then a few weeks later I will start freaking out again. Until peanut is here I will not rest easy.
Now that I am feeling better I have been working out more. Heather has become my newest gym buddy. We were walking on the treadmill 3 or 3 times a week for the past few weeks and Monday when we were off we went to step class which was really fun. It felt really good to work out again. I want to keep myself in the habit so after things get settled and we get a routine going I want to start working out as soon as I can. I have made a goal for myself that next year I will train and run the Nashville Half Marathon. We will see how that goes. Hopefully my running buddies will be up for helping me out.
So now we just sit and wait and I will continue staring at all of the precious blue and pink baby clothes just waiting to buy something.
It's amazing how different the belly looks from day to day.

Week 12

We are now counting down to the end of 1st tri. It feels like Forever since we found out and it also feels like it has already flown by. I have my next Dr. appt. Jan. 26 and I am not sure what will actually happen at this appt. I am guessing we will get to hear the heart beat again, but we won't have another US until my 20 week visit when we find out if I can order the pink or blue material for mom to make my beautiful bedding! It is funny because from the beginning I said I wanted a girl, but I have of course changed my mind because I change my mind about everything and I am really wanting a little boy now. I am sure I will flip flop until we actually know what it is. After trying for so long I don't care what it is as long as he/she is fine and gets here quick. Waiting is killing me right now. I have bought a few more things for baby. We already had a few cloth diapers, but I just bought 4 more covers and a ton of inserts for the Best Bottom inserts. I had registered on a website for a lot of this stuff, but this stuff is kind of important so I decided if I slowly start buying a few pieces every now and then then we will not be spending a TON of $ all at one time. So now we have 5 Best bottom covers with 15 small hemp inserts and a few overnight doublers. Now we just need Med./Large inserts and a few Gdiaper covers and those inserts. As long as we have diapers we can make it! I actually made 1 more baby purchase. B and I went to Babies R Us to look at all of the stuff we wanted for baby (they of course had nothing in store) and I spyed a tiny little lambie toy. I had to have it. It is the tiniest, softest, sweetest, little lamb with a little chime in it and B told me to go ahead and get it. It will be babies first little lovie. I am planning on slowly buying smaller stuff we will need for baby (pacies, small toys, etc,) because I don't want to register for that kind of stuff. Sad, but true I would rather register for bigger stuff I can buy my own pacifiers. Mom and I are going to hit up some consignment sales to see what we can find (clothes, sleep sacks, etc). This stuff is ridiculously expensive so if I can find some in a really good condition for much less then goodtimes. So here's the belly at 12 weeks. I can't believe I am already showing this much. Most of it is bloating and chubby belly. I still feel like I look chubby and not pregnant yet.

Week 11

Week 11 is almost over and I am feeling Fantastic! After my Monday morning random moment of getting sick and after waking up at 1am to pee and never being able to go back to sleep my return to work was Awesome! I have gone ahead and started wearing just my maternity pants and that may have been the greatest decision I have ever made. I tried a Bellaband, but I always felt like my pants were going to fall down and since my mom bought me a ton of cute maternity clothes and a few people have given me some I want to get as much use out of them while I can. I have only gained 6 pounds so far not sure if this is good or bad, but I am ready to look pregnant and not just fat).
I was Outed at school this week. We were doing our weather graph and I was asking my 4k kids if they knew what was going to happen this weekend (It is supposed to snow Sunday and Monday we are praying for a snow day). Well instead of hearing how excited they were about the snow one of my babies raises her hand and says "Mrs. Roxanne is having a baby!" I was so shocked. Then 2 other of my kids piped up that they knew I was having a baby too so I had to tell everyone. I told them I had a baby in my belly and soon my belly would start getting really big to which one of my little girls says "Like Santa's?" SO we continued on our lesson, but later on at lunch they started asking questions like "How did the baby get in my belly" (this could have gotten really interesting, but I am good with random questions) I replied that "God had put the baby in my belly." Christmas has just passed and we had talked a lot about how God had put a baby in Mary's belly so one of my babies suggested we name the baby Jesus. I about peed my pants I was laughing so hard. Everyone had an opinion about what we should name the baby (Power Ranger, Baby, Flick/That was our Elf On The Shelf's Name). I said we had to wait and find out if we were having a boy or girl baby before we picked a name. Now everyone is telling me what kind of baby they want. Of course all the boys want a boy baby and all the girls want a girl baby. I told them we would all get a chance to guess what the baby was before we found out.
Well finally they wanted to know how the baby was going to get out of my belly. I went with the good ole "it will come out of my belly." They wanted to know if it would pop out of my belly and one wanted to know if it would pop out of my mouth! I am guessing this will be a hot topic until they forget or until I actually start getting big.
I thought I had picked out my nursery bedding and went ahead and ordered it (mom didn't care for it much), but it was adorable. I want the room to be kind of antiquey and I really like lambs so this bedding was perfect because it was called sweet lambie. I also got the lamb mobile that matched. Yesterday we went and looked at Hancock fabric and didn't find anything we liked, but when we got home I wanted to show mom a website that made custom baby bedding. We looked at a few pictures and then I pulled up one called Kinsley and immediately fell in love. There is a blue version for boy bedding and of course a pink version for girl bedding. I went ahead and canceled the other bedding, but I am keeping the lamb mobile. We are also going to use some Beatrix Potter stuff like figurines and a lamp.
I am ordering this decal in green to go behind the bed.
There is so much adorable lamb stuff I have found to fulfill my need for lambies.
I have started my cloth diaper stash already because I wanted to play with them before the baby actually gets here and learn how to use them and I needed to find the newborn sized gdiapers because they are hard to find. So here is my fluff stash so far.
1 Best Bottom 1 size diaper (top left), 2 small gdiapers and (bottom left), 12 newborn tiny gpants (right side).
12 tiny g pants (newborn size)
My FAVORITE! Best Bottom diaper. I will be registering for the rest of these.
I feel like I have already done so much in such a short amount of time. I have started purging my house and getting rid of junk. We donated a ton of stuff this morning and a ton more stuff has been finally put away in the attic where it belongs. I started cleaning out the nursery and I am hoping next week I can get the bed, dresser, and sewing machine out of there and get the 2 chairs out of the den. Our house looks HUGE with all of this junk gone! I already feel so prepared.

Nearing The End of First Tri

That phrase just blows my mind! I think 2nd tri start at 13 weeks. These past few weeks have flown by and I can't believe this miracle is almost a 1/3 over. I have been bad about about my weekly pictures, but I finally took one at the end of week 10 and I feel like my belly is out of control! I know I haven't gained a lot of pounds, but my poor little belly is just crazy! Right now I am having to eat almost every 1/2 hour to 2 hours so I don't feel sick and I really try to eat pretty healthy.
Today I ate:
maple brown sugar oatmeal
hot ham and cheese sandwich
strawberry banana smoothie
peanut butter crackers
ramen
poppyseed chicken
and I am about to eat some more! (I might have another smoothie)
So here is the belly today in all it's glory and the picture does not do it justice.
I don't know how I am going to make it through the day when I go back to work Monday. Maybe since I won't be sitting on my A** all day and moving around paying attention to 17 little people and not just myself it won't be as bad. All I know is I am taking a ton of food in my new monogrammed Mrs. Roxanne lunch box Jen's b-friend gave me for Christmas on Monday just in case!
Now that I have been talking about food I am hungry again and shall go drink another smoothie.
