Hello Dolly

My Great Aunt Dolly passed away this morning. I am not sure on the details just yet, but when I called my daddy back after missing his call while at the Dr. and catching the news on Facebook from my cousin he said they had been expecting something to happen soon because she had stopped eating and drinking and if you know Dolly food was her thing. Whenever you walked into her house the first thing she would ask you was "Are you hungry?" or "What do you want to eat?" You usually didn't get a choice and it was always good so we were always eating.

Like my sister said when she called me back after I left her a message with maybe a few tears we shouldn't be sad because she is in such a better place. I think I forgot to mention this little firecracker I am talking about was 103! 103 years old people! Up until our wedding in 2008 she was doing pretty good and she even danced most of the night away and that was at 99! These last few years I know she was ready to be done with it all and to be with her sweetie Uncle Louie who passed when I was in Knoxville for my freshman orientation in 2000.

I just keep thinking about my Nini (Aunt Dolly's daughter and my godmother). When I called her to check on her today she was so sad and all I can think about is how quiet the house will be now. No more nurses. No more Dolly.

I am hoping mama will be able to attend the services. They gave her a shot today to boost her white count, but she has to be really careful about who she around right now so no Mckinley visits especially since she is sick with a possible case of hand foot and mouth yeah

So my heart is sad, but I know she is much happier and no longer in any pain. She lived a wonderful life and was an amazing woman.

After rereading this it all sounds so jumbled and random so please forgive me. I am a tad tired from sleeping with a sick bambino last night so I get a pass today. I am pretty sure my writing probably always sounds like this, but today I have excuse so I am using it.

My Wedding 2008 with all of her great nieces and nephews.

Dolly's 100th Birthday not in 1995

Meeting Mckinley for the first time. Dolly at 102. Mckinley at 2 weeks

Love you Aunt Dolly.

Highs and Lows

Highs
First post baby gym date! I FINALLY hit the gym with my good friend slash workout buddy Heather. I couldn't decide if I was going to keep my membership or not (especially since I hadn't actually set foot in there since I was possibly 3 months pregnant). Basically I was paying 30ish dollars a month for nothing. We have been talking about going for months and it finally happened today. We were possibly 20 a few minutes late and after waiting maybe another 15 minutes to get Mckinley's id card and signing her in to the baby room I hit the treadmill. The best part was the awesome new fitness equipment. The treadmills have their own tv's. You can even listen to music and play games like mahjong! It was so nice to have some grownup time and just talk.

Someone gave me a compliment today that I am looking very good (skinny) and I fit into a pair of pants that didn't fit 2 weeks ago. I know I have been relying on nursing/pumping to lose weight because it has been sucking it out of me, but I am going to have to be much better when I finally stop so I need to get better about what I am eating now. I would probbaly lose faster if I stopped eating hershey kisses everyday.

No school tomorrow because I am going to a conference on autism. Now that I have so many friends mainstreaming into my classroom I would like to learn more about autism. I want to know how I can best prepare and provide for all of my friends in my classroom. I hate missing school, but this will be interesting.

My babies were great today.

Mckinley is officially a roller. It took her a little longer because she is my child and she is stubborn and doesn't care to be on her belly, but she just couldn't quite roll herself over to her back. Well last night she rolled from her belly both ways to the left and to the right. She is getting more and more active and mobile everyday. Every now and then she will get her booty up in the air and move her knees and schooch herself, but she ends up schooching back a little. I hate how fast she is growing and changing, but I am also so darn proud of my big girl.

My boobs are working again and I am not having to supplement with formula.

Lows
Baby girl still has a cold and I am sleeping on the couch with her because I do not feel ok with her being so far away from me. She needs to be propped up pretty high to help keep her from coughing and I don't like putting her in her Boppy in her crib plus she still coughs. I feel much safer with her propped up with me on the other end of the couch.

My house is suffering right now. I have not had the energy nor the time lately to keep it as clean as I have wanted. I am keeping up with the dishes and laundry. My clothes might still be sitting in the basket in the laundry room where they have been for 4 days now, ubt they will eventually be put away when we need the basket again.

Brent didn't get home until after 8 and Baby Girl was already asleep. That is the first time that has happened and it makes me sad for him.

Gratuitous Kinley Shot
We have started working on using a sippy cup with water in it and the princess could of course careless for it. She hates holding her bottles and refuses to do it, but she does pretty good holding the sippy. She doesn't care for water too much, but we will get there.

I Spy With My Little Eye

2 wee little teethes (that is definitely a word).

Over the past month or so we have noticed a definite increase in drooling and hand/finger chewing. Also at out 4 month visit Dr. Pendergrass said her gum was swollen and a tooth would start poking through very soon. We have kept a very close vigil watching  Kinley's bottom gums waiting for this tooth to poke through. We've waited and waited and waited. And wouldn't you know her top teeth are coming in! Both of them. At the same time!

Check out my litte vampire.

Downside of finding teeth my poor baby girl is sick again. Thankfully I am off for Christmas break because when she started screaming bloody murder when I tried nursing her this weekend I knew something just wasn't right. Luckily my Dr's. office is really good about listening to worried mamas and not just brushing them off because mamas know their babies best and are usually 99% right. The biggest surprise at our appointment wasn't that Kinley had an upper respiratory infection or ear infection it was that she now weighs 15 pounds! I was expecting at least 14, but now I know why my arms are getting back in shape. It is the cute little chunker (that is also a word) I carry around all day.

Chillin witing for Dr. Pendergrass

Sadly we are taking another round of antibiotics which seem to be going down much easier then the last round and if you are a mam you know antibiotics make for fun diaper changes, tbu I can say we are already starting to feel better. Now if we could get past this awful coughing/choking and move off of the couch we would be all good.

Sleeping in the sling after choking in the crib (scary!)

Funny thing is if it wasn't for a sick screaming baby we may never have realized we are dopes and noticed not 1 but 2 pointy teeth pushing their way out.

Sleeping on the couch with mama
You can start feeling sorry for me now because I assume you are just now realizing not only do we have an ear infection (not fun), an awful cough which causes baby girl to whimper after each coughing round (not fun), but we have 2 yes 2 teeth coming in at the same time. Well don't feel too bad for me because it really isn't that awful. Kinley is a little fussy, but this is who I am ealing with so I can't complain too much.

So sick
There is A LOT of finger chewing and drooling going on and someone may be receiving some new plastic backed bibs in her stocking, but if this is how all teething will go then I think we can get through it relatively unscathed.

Well hello
