Mama Style

So I did something and I didn't tell anyone not even my sweet hubby. You see, I follow a million few different types of blogs from Mommy blogs to Cooking Blogs to Style Blogs. My favorite style blogs are real women who show you how to put actual outfits together. For me as a fashion challenged Mama these ladies have changed the way I get dressed in the mornings and I feel so much more put together and better about myself.

I contacted Jamie at Stylin Mommies  to let her know how much I love reading her blog and how she has inspired me to step up my Mama style. My style has always been a lot of simple layered with lots of neutrals and an occasional pop of color or pattern, but I was feeling a bit frumpy after having my Little Lady and going from Mama to teacher and back again was throwing me for a loop. I had to be comfortable, but also able to lift heavy objects and roll around on the floor if need be and I feel like having 1 blog display so many different Mama styles really helped pull me back together.

The point of this story is I wanted in on inspiring other Mama's to get their style back and I felt like I offered another point of view for being not only a mommy, but a teacher who needed to make sure my outfits were not only toddler proof, but 19 4 year olds proof.

I am in no way a style blogger, but I think I might start posting an outfit picture every now and then and hopefully by doing so I will stop wearing the same outfits over and over again and start changing things up even more.

I will post the link as soon as it is up and please don't make fun of me for "posing" I am not fashionable, have no clue what I am doing, and I had to rig my camera up to take my own pictures because I was too embarrassed to ask anyone else to do it for me. We Are Family

It's picture time again! These aren't just any pictures though these will be Mckinley's 1 year pictures. I know I know she won't be a year by June 23, but I want a pretty picture on her birthday invitation and no one take a picture of my baby quite like Courtney Young (Facebook). Let me remind you how awesome she is.

This is what I am thinking we will wear for our family shot. I don't want to buy anything new and I really want Mckinley to wear the precious monogrammed romper her Nonni just gave her. I had way too much fun on Picasa putting this collage together and I am pretty happy with how it will all look together. My black dress may not be in any of the other outfits, but I am pretty limited with what I have in my wardrobe. I might try a jean outfit if I can find a top that goes with everything else. I am pretty happy with this for now.

What To Wear

I am not very stylish, there I said it. I actually try sometime, but I am not very good at putting outfits together.I buy things that are comfortable and that can get dirty at work when we paint or glue feathers on stuff. Being pregnant and having to buy new clothes has been a struggle for me. First no one sells maternity clothes unless you go to those expensive stores and if they do they don't have a very big selection. I have bought most of my stuff at Old Navy online and I have to say I have gotten pretty good deals on everything. So after wearing the same things over and over and over again I just ordered a few new items to expand my shrinking wardrobe. I just found 1 more thing I really want which I might get later, but here is what I got yesterday for pretty cheap.

When I say I got this stuff for a good price I mean I got a REALLY good price. My husband really is a lucky man. I may not be the best baker or home keeper, but dang it I am cheap and I love it. A few more dresses, some tops, and maybe some shorts and I think I can make it through July. I am still trying to find a nightgown and some party dresses, but we can wait until those are needed because those may not be cheap.
