38 Weeks

There are no words. I am huge!

Now for the pies de resistance......... the belly from week 4-week 38 (minus week 7 I forgot to take a picture that week somehow!)

The first set of pictures make me realize how crazy I was to think I had gained a ton of weight pre baby and the last few pictures make me realize how big my belly has gotten. Being pregnant really messes with your head because you know you haven't gained that much fat, but it still can make you a little crazy to see the nurse scooching the marker up and up every visit. I started off pre baby at 122 lbs. and I am currently around 162-164 (my heart just stopped when I typed that number). . I was really swollen with fluid last time I was weighed so  I am not sure what my accurate weight is but the Dr. said I was weighed at 169, but about 7 lbs. of that was just fluid (gross). So my total weight gain is somewhere around 40 lbs. This chart makes me feel a little better.

Baby: 7 to 9 pounds
Placenta: 2 to 3 pounds
Amniotic fluid: 2 to 3 pounds
Uterine enlargement: 2 to 5 pounds
Increased blood volume: 4 to 5 pounds
Breast enlargement: 1 pound
Fluid in maternal tissue: 3 to 4 pounds

So let's say we are going to use the top numbers from this chart (ha ha ha I had typed shart thank goodness spell chekc caught that) because it makes me feel better. That would be 30 lbs. in baby, placenta, fluid, uterus enlargement, blood volume, breasts, and other fluids so that would be around 10 lbs. I have gained in actual weight. That makes me feel a little better about how I look right now.

Now that I am done whining I can definitely say Mckinley is definitely, 100% more then worth it. Especially when she gets here and starts draining some of this fat off of my body!
